Canon Michael John Reynell R.I.P

Archbishop Peter was the Principal Concelebrant at the Funeral Mass for Canon Michael John Reynell at Arundel Cathedral on Thursday, 15th January 2015 at 2.00pm. Priests of this diocese and from neighbouring dioceses concelebrated the Mass with him, assisted by deacons from our diocese. It was an opportunity for Father Michael’s family, close friends and parishioners from all his former parishes to pay their respects, give thanks for his life and entrust him to the Lord.

There was also a Vigil Mass at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Wilfrid, Selsey on Wednesday, 14th January at 7.00pm at which the Dean, Father Anthony Churchill, was the Principal Concelebrant. The Mass was for the benefit of priests and people who were unable to attend the Funeral Mass at the Cathedral, particularly the priests of the Deanery and the parishioners of St. Wilfrid’s.

Father Michael died peacefully in hospital on Sunday, 28th December 2014. He served this parish as the Parish Priest from September 2000 until he retired in August 2011. May he rest in peace!”
